Caitlin Keogh uses photographs and illustrations from 1930s fashion magazines as source material for her surreal and stylish paintings, which explore the making of images, specifically images targeted towards women. Keogh combines decorative patterns with abstraction and representational elements such as rope, frames and faceless mannequins.
Caitlin Keogh received her BFA from The Cooper Union School of Art in New York, NY in 2006 and her MFA from Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY in 2011. She has exhibited at Mary Boone Gallery, Leslie/Fritz Gallery and MoMA PS1 in New York, and internationally in Greece, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.
