Duvier Del Dago
Duvier Del Dago builds three-dimensional drawings using cotton thread, hooks on panels and black light. The motorcycle is the first of these works created in the artist's studio and exhibited in New York. The craft-like approach is transformed into a futurist 'Tron'-like sculptural installation. The cool motorcycle is an object of desire, a dream rendered here as ephemeral and unattainable as it is in his real life.
Born 1976 in Zulueta, Duvier Del Dago graduated from the School of Visual Arts, Trinidad in 1995. He then graduated from the Instituto Superior de Arte in 2001. Del Dago has had many recent solo shows in Havana, Paris, Ecuador and Montreal. His work is owned by many collections in the United States, Paris, Mexico, and Spain. He lives and works in Havana.
